After a good days rest we headed out of Chateulin in the direction of Foret de Fouesnant, a town on the coast and tlhe promise of lots more camping. We ended up in a place called La Falaise camping, which was a fairly big mainstream campsite but right by the beach. So we got our first sight of the Atlantic as we were coming into town.
The cycle had been fairly uneventful, a little bit hilly but nothing to strenuous. We had done about 30 miles by the time we got to the campsite, set up camp and then headed off to find something to eat. Once again everything was shut, and it was only 7.30 in the evening. After cycling round in cicles for quite a while we found a poulet roti (or rotisserie chicken). This was good for 2 reasons; the first being we had something to eat and the second being Lucy got to chat with another frenchman, who made a joke about Le coq sportif (you had to be there) and left him top of Lucy's frenchman league, moving ahead of Benji from Brest.
Lucy question of the day: "if you take a conker from france and plant it in england, is it english, french or a cross?"
31.31 miles on the route, then another 8.43 looking for food. So another 40 miles on the clock.
Here we go again then.... this time it's the Atlantic coast of France that stands between me and glory. The ride starts at Roscoff, France and will finish just the other side of the pyrennes in San Sebastian, Spain. Once again I will be cycling in aid of cancer research. It's less distance than the last trip, far fewer hills, apart from the big ones at the end, and hopefully much better weather... this time I have company as well.
